Your Room

Central air conditioning and heat are provided in all Warren General Hospital patient care areas. If your room is uncomfortable, please notify your nurse and they can adjust your temperature right away.

Your Bed

Each bed is equipped with upper side rails that may be used in the upright position to assist you as a support tool and to ensure your maximum safety.

Calling your Nurse

The nurse call button is located on the side rail controls or on a separate control that your nurse will give you. If you need assistance, please use this to signal the nurse on duty who will come to your bedside or speak to you over the intercom speaker as promptly as possible.

We understand a hospital stay can be a stressful experience for you and your family. The Warren General Hospital family of physicians, nurses and volunteers offer a variety of special services to make your stay as pleasant and comfortable as possible.
After all, our patients are our own family, friends, and neighbors. We want to keep you well because we are all members of the same community.

Our Chapel

On the second floor of our hospital, the Chapel is open for you and your family to pray and meditate. Our Chaplain regularly visits our patients and can gladly contact your pastor if you would like him or her to do so.

Shopping At Your Fingertips

To shop, dial 1842 from your bedside telephone, Monday through Friday from 8:30 am to 4 PM to purchase a variety of items. Some of the more popular items include:

  • Newspaper and Magazines

  • Stationary

  • Greeting Cards

  • Nail Care Items

  • Dental Floss

  • Fresh Flowers

  • Snacks

A volunteer will deliver the items directly to you within a few hours of ordering the items. Payment is rendered upon delivery.

Television

TV service is available at no charge to our patients. The button for the television is located on the side rail control panel, or on the call bell control or via the remote control.

Telephone

Telephone service is available in patient rooms at no extra charge to our patients.

Dialing Instructions to dial out of the hospital:
Dial 91 + number for local calls
Dial 92 + 00 to outside operator for long distance calls

Friends and relatives may call you directly by dialing 1-814-723-4973. If they know the direct extension of your phone, which is given upon admission, you can be reached by directly entering the number. If they do not know your phone extension, they can press “0” and an operator will assist them.

Friends and relatives may call the nursing unit by dialing 1-814-723-3300 and asking for the nursing unit for your room number.

TTY Phone for Hearing Impaired

Two telecommunications devices are available at Warren General Hospital for use by hearing impaired person. Please ask your nurse for assistance.

Language Translators are Available

If you not understand your pain and treatment options due to a language barrier, know that translators are on call to help translate treatment options and care to you and your family members.


Complementary Notary Public Services

The services of a notary are available for patients free of charge. To arrange an appointment please ask your nurse to contact Social Services for you.

Excellent Educational Resources

We have handouts, videos, and live demonstrations of different treatment options. We can provide ongoing support after your discharge from the hospital. Many programs are available including:

  • Organ Donor/Transplant Support

  • Pregnancy Classes

  • Home Health Care Services

  • Cardiac Rehabilitation
